This photo is from a lady I work with - her Dad raced this Ironhead on ice back in the day. According to her, he didn't use spiked tires until later on, instead those ole boys would just run the air out and run on the knobs of the deflated tire. Later on, he got into sidecar racing, she's trying to dig a photo of that up too.
